Celebrate the first anniversary of the 5e SRD's release into the creative commons with a special adventure chock-full of Easter Eggs for the true D&D aficionado!

Pentée, a growing city with probably as many citizens outside the city walls as there are inside, is situated at the mouth of the river Icosa, with the expansive sea spreading before its bustling harbor.

The city’s ruler, Lord Vatseer van der Kust, who once maintained a cordial relationship with his subjects, has become removed and irritable in recent years. It is seldom that he leaves his mansion now.

Hath, the Lord brother’s son and presumptive heir of Pentée, also resides in the manor. His quarters are filled with an array of treasures and trinkets amassed with indiscriminate fascination, sometimes obtained with questionable means.

Years ago, his lordship would regularly entertain in Vatseer Manor and the lucky guests would awe their friends and acquaintances with tales of Lord Vatseer’s trophy room, the large-than-life paintings in the great hall, and the treasures contained in the lord’s library. Nowadays, unless one gets an invitation to the customary reception in celebration of a new book by Lord Vatseer, it seems one needs to break into the manor to behold all these wonders…

The Guide to Vatseer Manor (28 pages) details on of the main location of Bent Goblin Press’ grand adventure Release from the OGL Vault, in which the future of the City of Pentée is determined. It features the full description of Vatseer Manor as contained in Release from the OGL Vault for usage as a stand-alone location: drop the manor into any adventure that requires the mansion of a somewhat eccentric lord!

All in all, the Guide to Vatseer Manor gives you:

  • a map and description of the surroundings of Vatseer Manor;
  • a map of the manor’s interiors and detailed descriptions of 16 locations therein;
  • 7 new magic items, all of them with a special twist that may make an adventurer think twice before using one of them;
  • 4 primary NPCs and 12 secondary NPCs;
  • guidance for running a heist adventure in the manor, including probability graphs for countdowns based on dice pools;

Above all, Guide to Vatseer Manor is chock-full with Easter eggs: the major NPCs are inspired by organizations and persons that have some relationship to the “world’s greatest role-playing game” and Vatseer Manor is filled with things that will bring a knowing smile to the true D&D aficionado.

How well do you know your D&D trivia?
